Our Previous Post on Facebook page asked “Nowadays Children have an enormous pressure to secure high grades (95% +). What Role do the parents play in this?”
Here are the Top 3 answers we received from our fans.
"Talking about higher grades, everybody likes to be on top and Parents play a vital role in increasing or decreasing the pressure sustained while undergoing exams. Some parents encourage their kids to give their best shot no matter whatever the result is. On contrary some parents pressurize their kids for higher grades. Such parents should always remember no one in this world is perfect. They should teach their child to achieve higher goals with love n care n not to become a memory machine whose only goal is to achieve higher grades."

"Parents role: top secrets to help your child secure according to his competencies and not exactly 99 percentile are:
a) Set your Child's mind free from any pressure / comparing.
b) Don’t force CURFEW in your home during any exams like NO TV, NO OUTDOOR ACTIVITES and stuff like that Instead maintain a healthy atmosphere at home with some BREAKS (where child is free to do activities of his choice like watching TV, going out with friends, watching a movie or playing some sports as its extremely important to have a stress free and refresh and rejuvenated mind coz this helps to concentrate.
c) During exam time please don’t talk ONLY ABOUT STUDIES and EXAMS as it creates an UNNECESSARY pressure on a child's mind.
d) Its advisable to become their trustworthy friends since beginning so that they feel free to express what they are feeling. Also, try observing his/her mood, actions in and around exams coz sometimes they don’t express out of fear something which is bothering them a lot which may take a toll on them.
I hope you will find these points helpful cause I feel that the best mentor / friend / guide / critic / counselor and a teacher of a child is none but their own PARENTS!!!"

"Why not develop a love for learning from childhood. Marks are not everything; Parents should realize that they should help the child and always satisfy his curiosity. They should help him stand on his feet and I am sure the child who has the trust and confidence of his parents will always be more confident and will always perform well. He knows he does not have to prove himself. "
